Position Overview
We are in search of an enthusiastic and meticulous Accountant who brings a robust expertise in QuickBooks and a comprehensive background in tax preparation for both corporations and self-employed entities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a profound knowledge of tax legislation and accounting principles, coupled with the capability to furnish precise financial data and tax guidance. This role offers a hybrid working model, necessitating two days of office presence weekly, complemented by the flexibility of remote work for the balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diligently prepare and review tax returns for businesses and self-employed individuals, ensuring adherence to all levels of tax regulations.
- Offer strategic tax planning and advisory services to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits.
- Accurately manage and uphold financial records in QuickBooks, aligning with accounting standards.
- Support clients with QuickBooks configuration, troubleshooting, and customization to meet their unique business requirements.
- Perform financial analyses and compile reports to aid in business decision-making processes.
- Remain abreast of legislative changes in tax and accounting standards, effectively communicating these updates to clients and colleagues.
- Engage in collaborative efforts to refine internal processes and elevate client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax preparation and accounting.
- Comprehensive understanding of tax laws and regulations relevant to businesses and self-employed individuals.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of demystifying complex tax and financial concepts for clients.
- Adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a hybrid work setting.
- Proficiency in Portuguese will be considered a valuable asset.
